Canceling Service

Information and steps for canceling your NextLight service.

We’re so sad to see you go.

Most people who discontinue their service with NextLight are moving away, and we hope you’ll come back someday! If you’re cancelling because you’re unsatisfied, please give us a chance to make it right removing or returning the ONT.

Returning Your ONT (Optical Network Terminal)

To avoid additional fees, you must return the black ONT (Optical Network Terminal) that was provided at installation.

How to Safely Remove Your Equipment

Items to Leave Behind: Please leave the White Wall Plate and the Yellow-and-Green Fiber Cable at your residence.

  1. Locate the Cable: Find the yellow-and-green fiber cable attached to your ONT.
  2. Unplug Safely: Pinch the sides of the plug head and pull. Do not tug on the cord to unplug the wall-plate from the ONT as this may damage the equipment. There may be a small amount of resistance as you remove the plug from the ONT.
  3. Secure the Cord: Leave the other end plugged into the wall plate and gently wrap it around the plate.

Avoid Non-Return Fees

Residential customers who do not return their ONT will typically be charged between $110 and $300, depending on the unit. Additional charges apply for battery backups, cords, or other auxiliary equipment.
