Connection is more important to Longmont than ever. To help all our community stay connected when they need to be, we developed income-qualified packages that allow Longmont residents the chance to move at the speed of NextLight! This program will offer the following discounts for qualifying households:

Who is eligible for the discount?
The internet assistance program is available only to qualifying households who participate in any of the following programs:
- Lifeline (must provide confirmation email showing approval)
- Head start (enrollees with free or reduced lunch enrollment)
- Medicaid-MSP or SLMP (specified low-income medicare beneficiary)
- Medicare is not qualifying; Medicare is medical coverage for 65+ or under 65 with a disability no matter of income
- Veterans pension or survivors pension
- Section 8 (Federal public housing assistance) and HUD
- WIC
- SNAP (Food Stamps)
- Federal Pell Grant awards
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- The SSI benefit provides payments to people with disabilities and older adults who have little or no income or resources and is different from Social Security Income. Social Security Income is not a qualifying benefit
- SVVSD Education Benefit (free and reduced lunch with income qualifying benefits)
- Only households receiving the free and reduce lunch due to having Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, and FDPIR will be approved for our internet assistance program
- Longmont Housing Authority (LHA) Properties
- Residents living in an LHA owned property are eligible for the internet assistance program discount
- Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
- Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR)
How do I apply?
- Gather the required documentation. All documentation must be clear, readable, valid and for the individual applying.
- Government issued identification. Acceptable form of ID are as follows:
- State issued driver’s license
- U.S. Military ID
- Passport
- Individual Taxpayer ID Number Document
- Matricula Consular ID
- Documentation showing current enrollment in the programs listed above.
- Benefit cards are not acceptable documentation to show active participation. Please provide documentation that has a current data with some kind of information showing approval within the program.
- Government issued identification. Acceptable form of ID are as follows:

Are additional products or services available for the discount?
Customers enrolled in the internet assistance program can only receive the 100 mbps or 1 gig internet service at a lower discount rate. Any higher speed packages or products will be charged at full price in addition to the internet assistance package pricing. For example, if a customer has the 100 mbps with a WiFi6 router the monthly charge will be $14.95 (100 mbps internet) +$12.95 (WiFi6 router).
